Last 15K years Temp+CO2
Notes:
This plot zooms in on the temperature and CO2 levels extracted from the Vostok ice cores for the last 15K years. Note that the temperature samples are much closer together than the CO2 samples. The same is true for CH4 samples.
The data shows more than a 2˚C variability in global average temperature over the last 10K years. When compared to prior changes, it's been the most stable climate in more than half a million years. While the variability during the last 10K years has been small, it's quite large compared to the recent variability that the alarmists are so concerned about. Even the recent rate of change is small compared to the other changes that have occurred during the last 10K years, for example, the spikes 4.5K and 8K years ago.
Anthropologists frequently attribute the rise of civilization to the relatively stable climate modern man has been lucky enough to have experienced.
