Conclusion

Notes:

Long term climate is driven by the variability in the Earths orbit and axis, amplified by the ebb and flow of surface ice. There are many shorter term effects that can temporarily push the climate warmer or cooler. The data provides no support whatsoever for any kind of causal connection between CO2 levels and future temperatures. Biology alone is sufficient to explain the correlations between temperature, CO2 and CH4 seen in the data.

A kilometer thick wall of ice bearing down on Manhattan will be far more inconvenient that a small rise in sea levels, or a few homeless polar bears. This has happened before and will happen again with absolute certainty.

Mankind should not be so arrogant as to think we can control, or are responsible for, climate change. The climate has always been changing and will continue to change. Short of modifying the Earth's orbit and axis, there's nothing we can do about it, except to adapt. Even the effects of a nuclear winter would be dissipated within a decade.
