Politics

Notes:

Politics should never dictate science. Unfortunately, it's played an inappropriately dominant role here. One side has been driving public opinion to believe that 'CO2 is the root of all evil' as the other denies climate change is even occurring. Both sides of the political debate are in conflict with the science.

The last time politics had such a dramatic effect on science was when the Church declared that science showed how the Earth was at the center of the Universe. Galileo tried to make science objective by advancing the scientific method, but it took centuries before the truth was finally accepted. Interestingly enough, this conflict was a result of the same arrogant belief that mankind is at the center of everything.

Popular opinion seems to have galvanized around man made causes. While many in the scientific community have rejected this, for good reasons, the 'official' science has allowed itself to be ruled by alarmism. Unless the politicians and voters accept the real science, we are doomed to suffer through another very expensive mistake.
